Scriptorium

The scriptorium is having two classes on Friday. Lady Genevieve la flechiere will have a class on Romanesque initials, in a style that appeared in sacred books, in the mid 12th century. Lady Lia de Thornegge will teach a class on beginning to learn a new hand. On Saturday there will be open scriptorium to everyone willing to scribe or illuminate. There will be pen, ink and paper to borrow, or please take your own with you if you have them!

Rautahirvi tourney

Let it be known by all and sundry, that the Members of august Order of Rautahirvi will hold the field by the lake Marsjö against all comers on Friday 15th of June this same Year at the Coronation festivities of this mighty Kingdom of Drachenwald. To this they invite all men at arms coming to that great event to match their prowess with all customary weapons of Gentlemen. Any comer is to fight all members present as Tenans at rapid succession with weapons of their own choosing. Fights are fought to first good Blow. Challengers may fight as many times as they wish and the time allotted by Marshals allows. Rautahirvi !!!

Pas d'armes tourney

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

To all Dukes, Barons, Knights, Masters- at- Arms, Lords and Squires residing or visiting the Fair Land of Drachenwald and everyone who hears these words.

Let it be known that on 16th of June this Year XLVII of Our Society by the Lake Marsjö in Kavalahti In presence of our most noble majesties Queen Aryanhwy and King Paul there will be held a Grand Tournament in celebration of Chivalry according to the wishes of Our most Noble and Gracious Queen, So that by witnessing the Puissance at Arms and Chivalrous Conduct of most Noble combattants, She may call most suitable man-at-arms in Drachenwald to serve as Her Champion.

Most Noble Queen Aryanhwy therefore Graciously commands all those men-at-arms willing to serve Her Sanguinary and Radiant Majesty in the position of Champion to be present at the said date, in the said place, armed to all points as Gentlemen, presenting on their Escutcheon their Device or Badge.

Furthermore the Combatants shall fight Á Outrance, that is to say with sharp weapons of War, but only to First telling blow on either Head or Body. First Strike to limb is called out, and should another one to land that fighter is to take this as a loss. The men-at arms may among themselves challenge each other to bouts and this shall continue until Her Majesty has seen enough and the Heralds call a stop.

This I write in Service to Her Majesty
lord Mikael Rantzow, squire

Practical things:
Participation - You can take part even if You are not resident or able to take the job, if we are not flooded by participants. Queen wishes to see You on the Field:

Display – Queen likes nice heraldic display so let’s do it. Bring a small heater shield with either Your own arms, Your badge , populace badge of Your location or household. These should be in size A4 and sturdy enough for setting up on list tree. The people in charge of putting up the listfield should get them in their hands as early as possible. If You are not able to do this please contact MiC, Mikael Rantzow as soon as possible so we’’ see if something can be arranged.

Flags and pennons encouraged. Help with setup of those appreciated.

No unpainted plywood or aluminium shield facing allowed on the field.

Heraldic surcoats and tabards encouraged, but not required.

Crests: not required but encouraged.

Format: Challenge tourney. Historical chivalric weapons forms. Two sticks and "Christian style" or equivalents forbidden( without documentation.) Bring Matched weapons if able.
